Triple-glazed windows
Tripled-glazed windows play an important role in the ECO2H2OUSE in two ways: first, they reduce heat losses, despite their large areas, and second, they allow sunlight to provide additional heat through the glass.
Our windows have two infrared reflective coatings and are filled with krypton or argon gas. This means that the surface temperature of the glass inside the room is comparable with the air temperature of the room itself to minimise condensation and heat losses. Where these window systems are installed in a south-facing position, the solar heat gain, even in the winter months between December and February, is higher than the heat loss.
